We would like to inform you &nbsp;about the next CPMD workshop (CPMD2005).</tt></font>
<br>
<br><font size=2><tt>As the previous workshop of 2003, the site<br>
where we will meet is again the Monte Verita conference<br>
center Stefano Franscini of the ETH in Ascona, Switzerland. <br>
The dates are from Saturday September 3 to Thursday 8. </tt></font>
<br><font size=2><tt><br>

<br><font size=2><tt>The deadline for registration and to submit a poster
is</tt></font>
<br><font size=2><tt>April 30. Due to limitations to the number of partecipants,</tt></font>
<br><font size=2><tt>we cannot garantee a place for all at this stage.</tt></font>
<br><font size=2><tt>Communication about acceptance will follow shortly
after the deadline. </tt></font>
<br><font size=2><tt><br>
 The 2005 workshop is special. In September that <br>
year Michele Parrinello will reach the age of sixty. This <br>
event will be celebrated with a two day symposium honouring <br>
Prof Parrinello's scientific accomplishments. We expect <br>
many of his colleagues and scientific friends to come <br>
and give presentations. Symposia of this kind tend to <br>
be somewhat exclusive. For this reason we thought it<br>
appropriate to embed the Parrinello Symposium in the<br>
the CPMD2005 workshop. In this way the participants to<br>
the workshop will be able to attend the symposium. &nbsp;It <br>
will take two days of the workshop, the 6th and 7th of <br>
September, the second &nbsp;day (the Wednesday) coinciding <br>
with Michele's Birthday. &nbsp; <br>

There is no conference fee, but all participants will be <br>
charged for board and accommodation. The costs are CHF 950.- <br>
for a place at the Monte Verita center (5 nights, arriving <br>
Saturday leaving Thursday, people registering late may <br>
have to be lodged at hotels in town) or CHF 400.- when <br>
you prefer to arrange accommodation yourself. Both<br>
the CHF 950.- and &nbsp;400.- sums cover all meals, including <br>
breakfast at the conference center and the conference dinner. <br>
Ideally, we hope to have to sufficient funds to offer <br>
financial support to a limited number of junior participants. <br>
We will make announcements regarding this possibility when <br>
we have a better view of the budget.<br>
